Built-In Indoor Sauna with Cooling Room
Custom indoor sauna and cooling zone, built into a modern home with natural materials and simple design.
Project Overview
In this new construction home, the sauna wasn’t part of the original layout. We turned part of the technical room into a custom-built 7x5 indoor sauna with an adjacent cooling zone—adding relaxation space without changing the footprint of the home.
Sauna Features
Size: 7x5 feet
Walls: Tight-knot cedar
Benches: Clear cedar, custom-built
Heater: Harvia Spirit model with a natural stone backsplash
Floor: Concrete with a removable wood pallet
Lighting: Soft under-bench LED lighting, per client request, for a calm, spa-like atmosphere
Door: Custom-made from clear hemlock and tempered glass
Cooling Zone
Right next to the sauna, we created a simple and functional cool-down space featuring:
A built-in bench
Wall hooks for towels
A floating shelf for storage or decor
This project is a great example of how we can make the most of unused space to bring everyday wellness into the home.
